Go up the notes and into the octave (skip bottom hole) and
you'll get the "do-re-mi" scale.

Pentatonic Minor Scale

The bottom hole stays open
While playing up and down the notes, imagine the fingers
on holes 5 & 6 are taped together as one.
also:
Open and close holes 1 & 2 at the same time: as one note.
hint: Imagine the thumb and first finger are pinching the flute.

Kiva Flute Tips

- For a breathy sound, bring  teeth close together as you blow

        - For a clear sound, drop lower jaw as you blow (as if there's an egg in your mouth)

 - The thumb hole is #1  (count from the top down)

- Pinky Fingers cover holes 4 and 7

- Both Ring Fingers hold the flute when the other holes are opened.

        - Play the octave notes by slightly opening the 2nd hole

Several scales can be played as shown below

- Cross fingering not required. Open and close holes in succession.
