This flute is inspired by the ancient Anasazi flute.
Artifacts dated around 650 A.D. are from the Pueblo people of Arizona and New Mexico.
The Ez-Anasazi Flute uses some of the elements of these flutes with additional features:
- The air cutting edge is like a rim-blown flute, with the innovative addition of an air slot "fipple" above it. - It has a long, narrow bore and similar scale considered to be from the Anasazi Flute.
- It has an added thumb hole for versatility and ease on the top notes, bringing holes closer together.
A contemporary interpretation of an ancient instrument.

| Anasazi, Navaho and Hopi People The Anasazi are from north eastern Arizona but they also had settlements as far south as Payson known as the Mogollon Rim. That part of the Anasazi civilization evolved into what archaelogists call the Mogollon people. The Hopi call the Anasazi, 'Hisatsinom' which means 'our ancestors'. Archaeologists also believe that the Hisatsinom Anasasi are the direct ancestors of the Hopi. Anasazi is actually a Navajo word which means 'enemy ancestors'. Navajo have a long standing rivalry with the Hopi. Below is a quote from the book I'm getting this information from, "The Archaeology of Ancient Arizona". |
This is another spiral I found on a cave wall. (cave below) This site belongs to the Salado people who archaeologists believe are descended from the Hohokam people. This is at least 1000 years old. |

architects, artisans, artists, and astronomers. They embraced a religious world view that survives to this day and that competes favorably with the world's major religions in depth of spirituality and longevity of tradition." Authors Jefferson Reid & Stephanie Whittlesey |
