"Anasazi Flute by Stephen is a rim-blown style

    flute with a mouthpiece enabling

"embouchure challenged flute victims" to play.

The one I have is absolutely wonderful.

The reach is easy, playing could not be easier,

and that dusty, dry Southwest tone exquisite."

Dan DiCicco, Loping Wolf Clan,  Flute Circle Facilitator

    "I love
my new Ez-Anasazi flute! Thanks so much for bringing this new innovation to us !
I know this will be a big hit with everyone.
I'll be sharing it with all our Flute Circle members."
Stephanie Baldridge, Cascadia Flute Circle Facilitator

This flute is inspired by replicas of the ancient Anasazi flute.
Artifacts dated around 650 A.D. are from the Pueblo people of Arizona and New Mexico.

I have created the Ez-Anasazi Flute using some elements of these flutes with additional innovations:

    - The air cutting edge is like a rim-blown flute, with the innovative addition of an air slot "fipple" above it.
    - It has a long, narrow bore and similar scale considered to be from the Anasazi Flute.
    - I have added a thumb hole for versatility and ease on the top notes.

A contemporary interpretation of an ancient instrument.
     Blessings of the Ancestors.

The Anasazi are from north eastern Arizona but they also had
settlements as far south as Payson known as the Mogollon Rim. That
part of the Anasazi civilization evolved into what archaelogists call
the Mogollon people. The Hopi call the Anasazi, 'Hisatsinom' which
means 'our ancestors'. Archaeologists also believe that the Hisatsinom
Anasasi are the direct ancestors of the Hopi. Anasazi is actually a
Navajo word which means 'enemy ancestors'. Navajo have a long
standing rivalry with the Hopi. Below is a quote from the book I'm
getting this information from, "The Archaeology of Ancient Arizona".

This is another spiral I found on a cave wall. (cave below) This site belongs to
the Salado people who archaeologists believe are descended from the
Hohokam people. This is at least 1000 years old.

"Far more than farmers, they were architects, artisans, artists, and
astronomers. They embraced a religious world view that survives to
this day and that competes favorably with the world's major religions
in depth of spirituality and longevity of tradition."
    Authors
    Jefferson Reid & Stephanie Whittlesey

On the ground in front of the cave there are
perfectly round holes. They were used to grind seeds and corn.

...I am the only one out there. It is so peaceful. Your flute echos all
around the canyon. So nice. I really enjoy your flutes.

They have contributed greatly to my quality of life. They are true treasures.

Anasazi Flute Lessons for the 7 hole DeRuby Ez-Anasazi Flute

    - For a clear sound, drop lower jaw as you blow
    - For a breathy sound, bring teeth close together as you blow
    - The octave is easily obtained with all the holes closed and the 2nd hole slightly cracked open.
    - All 7 holes open and close in succession. (no cross fingering)

There are different scales or modes you can play with.
These are especially good for playing with other instruments:
